Actual problems of implementation of a new classification system for radioactive waste to be removed.

Actual problems were considered regarding the classification of radioactive waste in connection with the upcoming entry into force on January 1, 2024 of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1929 dated 29.10.2022.
The problematic issues of classification of radioactive waste established by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1069 dated 19.10.2012 were considered, and it is shown how they were resolved within the frames of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1929 dated 29.10.2022.
An overview of the new paradigm was provided for classification of radioactive waste, implemented within the frames of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1929 dated 29.10.2022, based on the results of which the main directions for improving the system for radioactive waste management were determined.
