Rules for Design and Operation of Safety-Related Ventilation Systems of Nuclear Power Plants (NP-036-23).

(NP-036-23)[1] was developed in compliance with Article 6 of the Federal Law of November 21, 1995 No. 170-FZ "On the Use of Atomic Energy", which shall be observed to develop the Federal Rules and Regulations in the field of atomic energy use – regulatory legal acts stipulating the requirements to safe use of atomic energy, including the safety requirements to nuclear facilities, safety requirements to activities in the field of atomic energy use, comprising safety goals, principles and criteria, compliance with which is mandatory when carrying out activities in the field of atomic energy use.

The Federal Rules and Regulations in the field of atomic energy use shall be developed and approved according to the procedure established in the "Provisions for Development and Approval of Federal Rules and Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use" approved by the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1511 of December 1, 1997 and observing the "Procedure for Development and Approval of Federal Rules and Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use by the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service" approved by the Order of Rostechnadzor No. 267 of July 7, 2015.

NP-036-23 establishes the requirements to design and operation of safety-related ventilation systems of nuclear power plants.

The requirements of NP-036-23 are mandatory for operating organizations, as well as organizations performing works and rendering services to operating organizations in the field of atomic energy use.

Issued to substitute the Federal Rules and Regulations in the field of atomic energy use "Rules for Arrangement and Operation of Safety-Related Ventilation Systems of Nuclear Power Plants" (NP-036-05) approved by Resolution of Rostechnadzor dated November 7, 2005 No. 6.

Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service dated November 20, 2023 No. 409 " On Approval of the Federal Rules and Regulations in the Field of Atomic Energy Use "Rules for Design and Operation of Safety-Related Ventilation Systems of Nuclear Power Plants" (NP-036-23) registered by the Ministry of Justice of Russia on February 14, 2024 under the registry No. 77255, came into effect on February 25, 2024.
