Radiation safety assessment requires correct epidemiological data

The article shows the discrepancy between the requirements of the directive documents for the assessment of radiation risks. In radiation epidemiology the principles of collecting data on doses from various types of radiation are violated, and therefore all medical-dosimetric registers of the world do not have the total human dose needed to calculate correctly the risk of radiation induced diseases. Therefore, researchers get incorrect results of calculating the risk of these diseases, which are still the basis for assessing the state of radiation safety.

Keywords: radiation safety, total radiation dose, epidemiological data collection, risk assessment, radiation-induced diseases, industry register of Chernobyl disaster clean-up workers.
