METHODICAL SPECIFICS OF SAFETY ANALYSIS FOR RESEARCH REACTORS

Author:   Malkov A. Issue:   2(76) – 2015.
The paper describes specifics of the research reactors (RR) safety analysis and justification. Methodical recommendations on selection of the list of initial events considered during RR abnormal operation are given. The importance of taking the rector state into account in assessing its safety is shown. Requirements to the initial data for the RR safety analysis are determined. The degree of influence of experimental devices and test conditions on RR safety is shown. Main problems to be settled during the calculation analysis and RR safety justification are presented. The paper proves that the RR safety analysis goes beyond the design data and shows that it is necessary to constantly perform a more detailed justification of safety taking into account the current state of the reactor and various up-to-date experimental devices.
