The article examines the current issues of legal regulation regarding the nuclear energy use at sea, including international and national approaches to safety, liability, and operation of nuclear-powered ships and floating nuclear power units.
Special attention is given to the regulatory practices of the Russian Federation and the need to revise the international documents in order to develop a unified regulatory system in conditions of the renewed interest in nuclear shipping.
