This paper considers the particularities of modern approaches and review of the latest modifications in the field of ensuring safety of radioactive materials transportation, that are presented in federal rules and regulations in the field of atomic energy use. The comparison of Russian legal and regulatory basis to international documents, which regulate safety of radioactive materials transportation, is presented.
