CONCERNING THE EVALUATION OF NUCLEAR LEGACY VOLUME IN THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY AND OTHER FACILITIES OF NUCLEAR ENERGY PEACEFUL USE IN RUSSIA

In the course of implementation of the Federal Target Program “Provision of Nuclear and Radiation Safety for 2008 and for the Period up to 2015” the need for the systematic examination of the nuclear legacy components, the final state of its objects, the top-priorities and the routes to achieve the ultimate targets on its elimination became obvious.
Currently the analysis has been performed for preliminary results of the inventory accounting of nuclear- and radiological-hazardous facilities (NRHF) of different types taking into consideration their present state including ranking of NRHF according to their hazard degree, ownership type, subordination and other characteristics. Criteria are established for categorizing as nuclear legacy and general approaches of the strategic planning are provided. Brief description of algorithms for works organization concerned with the nuclear legacy for the period up to 2025 is also developed.
