This paper presents the results of calculation research of nuclear safety indicators and calculation and experimental research of radiation safety indicators of transportation VVER-1000 spent nuclear fuel in cask TUK-153. The article also shows that design of TUK-153 provides nuclear safety criterion by wide margin, however, the dose rates on 2 meters from the vehicle surface can amount to 90 % by limit value. The conservatism of used methods and approaches to the computational models creation is confirmed experimentally.
