SEC NRS attends the 61st Session of the IAEA General Conference

SEC NRS representatives as part of the Rostechnadzor delegation headed by Alexey Ferapontov, Deputy Chair, are attending the 61st Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference (September 18-22, 2017, Vienna, Austria).

On the first and second days of the Session Alexander Khamaza, Director, and Denis Mistryugov, Head International Cooperation Division, SEC NRS, attended the General Conference plenary meeting, International Nuclear Safety Group (INSAG) Forum, 20th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management, Nuclear Waste Management – Pioneering Solutions from Finland.

On the third day SEC NRS representatives attended the Global Nuclear Safety and Security Network Plenary – Capacity Building and International School of Leadership for Safety which included the official signature of IAEA – ETSON Cooperation Agreement participated by Alexander Khamaza as the ETSON Vice-President.  

On the same day the meeting of Alexey Feraponotov and Olga Lugovskaya, Gosatomnadzor of the Republic of Belarus, took place with participation of Alexander Khamaza and Denis Mistryugov which aimed at current status and perspectives of cooperation between the regulators of two countries.

On Day 4 of the Session SEC NRS representatives attended Senior Regulator’s meeting. On the fifth conclusion day the Regulatory Cooperation Forum Plenary will take place.
