Dynamic Monitoring of Building Structures of Nuclear Facilities (RB-045-22)

The Safety Guide contains recommendations of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia on the arrangement, goals and conduct of the dynamic monitoring of nuclear facilities' civil structures and erections using non-destructive seismoacoustic methods (microseism method).

The Safety Guide RB-045-22 covers the activities in the field of atomic energy use related to commissioning, operation and extension of the designed service life of nuclear facilities. At the stage of commissioning of nuclear facilities the dynamic monitoring is recommended to be carried out at newly constructed nuclear facilities, since that will provide input data required for comparison and obtaining full information for further dynamic monitoring.

The Safety Guide is intended to be applied by organizations operating nuclear facilities, and those rendering services in monitoring and survey of civil structures of the nuclear facilities' buildings and erections, as well as those developing materials for safety analysis to obtain licenses for siting, construction, operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities.

To civil structures of buildings and erections of nuclear facilities addressed in the Safety Guide, it is recommended to assign the load-bearing and fencing reinforced concrete (cast-in-place, assembled, and cast-in-place & assembled), concrete, stone and reinforced stone, as well as metal (metal frameworks, pillars, crossbars) civil structures.

Recommendations of the Safety Guide RB-045-22 cover the following stages of works performed to support the calculated and experimental estimate of strength and stability of nuclear facilities' buildings and structures:

shaping of data based on the results of examination of civil structures of buildings and erections;
shaping of data based on the results of vibro-dynamic and wave tests for civil structures of buildings and erections;
creation of a computer model of buildings (erections) based on the analysis of design solutions;
tailoring of a computer model based on the data of vibro-dynamic and wave tests;
monitoring of changes (stability) in dynamic characteristics.
In this context, the Safety Guide RB-045-08 "Dynamic Monitoring of Building Structures of Nuclear Facilities" (Order of the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia of December 29, 2008 No. 1037) shall be recognized as repealed.
