The paper addresses the problem of handling of spent fuel assembly (SFA), namely the issues of uneven fuel assembly burnup used during the beginning of core life. The article briefly indicates the prerequisites for the performance of the submitted work. The main incentive was the task of calculating the radiation safety of the container for transporting the SFA used during the beginning of core life.
